The magic of Hill Close Gardens is a mixture of many things; the grass and the trees, the flowers and the bees, the hedgehogs and bugs, the gardeners and volunteers. In Spring 2020 we saw the gardens change and grow in a different way. With no visitors treading the paths it was sad to see that the gardens were missing an essential element. What we were missing was the visits from the many children and their families. Although peaceful and calm, the gardens need the joy and laughter of young people and their families. The gardens flourish, as we do, when we meet together and share the beauty of the natural world. We at Hill Close wondered how best to continue to share the magic of this most beautiful place during this time.
And so, Isabella came to share her story. The story of the soil and the seeds, the birds and trees, the sun, the clouds and the rain. Each week, Kate shared the story of Isabella at Hill Close Gardens, alongside other stories and a craft activity of things to make and do. Here you’ll find Kate and Isabella as they journey through story to the magic of Hill Close Gardens with you.
Kate is a local storyteller based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You can see and listen to her stories via her website www.katesstorytree.co.uk or social media channels @katesstorytree
