Grow, Learn and Explore Outdoors
12th February, 2026
Join our monthly Drop-In sessions ‘Grow, Learn and Explore’, where toddlers, pre-school children and their parent/carers are introduced to playing and learning outdoors. Even babies are invited to join in the fun.
Each month we explore the wonder and magic of Hill Close Gardens, looking for the seasonal changes in nature, spotting birds, hunting for bugs, digging, planting and watering in the Children’s Garden and being creative using a range of art and craft materials. We even plant something that you can take home and grow in your own garden or outdoor space. We always finish with a snack, a story and a song.
We try to be outside for part of every session, so the children (and the grown-ups) need to come dressed appropriately. That way they can enjoy digging and planting, watering and making wonderful squishy dishes in our Mud Kitchen without getting their clothes wet and muddy. For some, jumping in muddy puddles is the best fun so wellies and waterproofs are always a good idea !
We hold the sessions on the Second Thursday of each month 10.00am to 11.30am.
The cost is £4 per child with each additional sibling £2. Childminders £4 for the first child, £2 per additional child. For under 2’s the fee is a £2. If you are joining us at one of the drop in sessions please book via our Ticket Tailor site here.
