Our plant sales area at Hill Close gives you the chance to take home a living reminder of your visit. Most of the plants are propagated from the Gardens or raised from seed in our glasshouse. We grow a range of traditional favourites, plus more unusual plants that you won’t find in a typical garden centre. We are committed to sustainable growing – we use peat-free potting compost and avoid chemical insecticides. Most of our plants are perfect for pollinators too!
If you haven’t got time to look round the Gardens, you can still visit the plant nursery for free. But why not take out membership and enjoy a 10% discount on our plants each time you buy?
Our nursery season starts in February with sales of collectable snowdrops and other potted bulbs. A small range of other plants is available in early spring, but the season really gets underway in May and June. We focus on hardy perennial plants that will come back every year, plus a few flowering shrubs and young vegetable plants. New additions are put out for sale every couple of weeks, so it’s worth calling in regularly. Salvias and hardy Geraniums are popular in the summer, and by the autumn you’ll find Michaelmas daisies and border Chrysanthemums to add some late-season colour to your garden.
