We are particularly proud of our collections of Chrysanthemums, Snowdrops, Sempervivums. and of course Apples. We have 40 varieties of Chrysanthemums on site, making a wonderful show in season.
Here are four of our favourites:
Our year begins with our displays of Snowdrops. In February we have a snowdrop trail through the Gardens, and also a tabletop display allowing visitors to get up close and personal with these tiny flowers in their many varieties
Sempervivum plants are commonly known as houseleeks. They are succulent perennials tolerant of drought and a wide range of temperature. They are ideal pot plants, and from the display in our glasshouse visitors can choose their favourites and buy some pots or a mini collection to take home.
Our collection of around 70 Apple Trees play four roles in the Gardens. In March the display of blossom is fantastic; in August and September the trees look splendid loaded with fruit; then the apples can be bought and enjoyed; and finally visitors can buy our branded apple juice. Apple Day in October is the climax of our year.
